The Bangards path in Thann
Marque vignobles et découvertes

4 Km 1h45 80 Easy In a cane stroller, In a 4x4 baby carriage

In days gone by, the Rangen was criss-crossed by bangards, "vineyard guards" whose job it was to look after the precious vineyard, a source of prosperity for Thann.
This is how you will follow one of the bangards to discover the southernmost vineyard in Alsace and the only one in the region to be classified as a Grand Cru in its entirety.
Its south-facing slopes extend over an area of 22 hectares, with gradients of up to 45°. This vineyard produces 3 exceptional grape varieties: Riesling, Pinot Gros and Gewurtztraminer.

There are three itineraries, each with 19 educational panels:
- a short route of 2.2 km - 40 min round trip which follows the cycle path and is accessible to people with reduced mobility,
- a medium route of 3 km - 1 hour 45 minutes round trip, with an 80-metre gradient, along the Chemin Montaigne.
- a longer route of 5 km - 2hrs 30mins round trip, 180m difference in altitude, more sporting, takes in the Croix du Rangen. From up there, you can admire the panorama.
